You guys couldn't be more right......
Many of the people at the Dealerships are "Techs". Which basically means they have been trained by Ford to read certain electronics, diagnose specific problems, and swap parts.
but a true mechanic is one who has spent some time in the trenches without all the fancy tools. Like a good doctor, they have learned to use their senses to know when there is a problem and recognize it. Then they have to have the experience to know what to do about it. Just because someone is "trained", does not mean they have the natural ability to be a mechanic.
I guess that is why I posted about this guy. Old School all the way. As a bonus, he loves Fords, so he cares and wants everything to be right, as he would want it on his own cars. Hard to explain, but you can tell the difference. He is the guy people bring their problem cars to that were done wrong and no one can fix. He laughs at all the crappy work done. Like the subframes he had to cut off a car because some other "mechanic" welded them on wrong and the customer could even close his doors on the car!. Oh well, Just thought you guys should know about the guy.
