Hello All,

Quick howto question for an 89 GT. I believe I have an 8.8 rear end and I was looking into new differentials, and was debating if I wanted to give it a go. Does anyone have a howto sort of thing on how to change out the diff on these guys? If it matters/helps, I was looking at picking up a torsion differential. Thanks for any help.

Yes, you have an 8.8 rear end but unless you've done rear end work before, it'd be best to let someone who has do it for you. It's not a simple process and you need experience to properly set it up.

There's the limited slip, locker, torsion, spool, and they all are best suited for specific needs. What's the intended use of the car? All center sections aren't the same.

The car is street driven, mainly to autocross events and soon road course days (Pocono road course, for example). Use is usually limited to that and maybe a "sunday drive" once or twice a week.
