Ouch. I've seen worse in the body shops before though so that's a good sign. My 04 GT whole passenger side was totaled by a truck it had frame damage and everything with the windshield smashed out. this was all with the last owner. I picked up the car from the dealer when it had 39k. If they fixed mine they should definitely fix that. Mine runs like a champ never had any engine damage

Welcome to AFM...sorry about your car.

I'm gonna' move this to the 2005-2010 Talk section, you should get more responses in there...
I'm not an expert, but looks totaled to me. I do know the insurance company will look at the value of your Mustang and cost of repair. If the ratio is close to 90% (at least my ins co does), it's a goner (been there). If they do decide to repair, the value will probably plummet as it will show in carfax as a major repair. I've direct experience with that one. Am sure you'll get several comments from members here that have been down that road.

The upside, sounds like no one was hurt?

Well the car is valued at 9k i just want to know the cost to repair all that
That's painful to look at. Sorry bud. Just from that one pic it's tough to tell but I think you'll be close to that 9k mark. Labor will be the killer. Good luck.
That's more than 9k worth of damage. I'm afraid its time to start looking at options to put a down payment on, unfortunately....

you can sue the insurance/owner for deminished value. its not common knowledge so most ppl dont know that. you can only be awarded actual damages i.e you cant sue for $'s based on emotional attachment, etc. you claim would be for book value before accident minus book value after accident caused by the accident.

its filed as a seperate claim/lawsuit and will not effect the $$ for repair or loss of property.

oh and that car will not be fixed, its a total loss. however if your state allows you can buy it back as salvage with a salvage title and have it repaired

Good information. Hope the OP reports back with the final verdict..

That almost happened to me a few weeks ago. Got gas before going to work. Was 2nd in line at the light turning left. Got the green arrow and we went. It was wet that morning, so I was going slow. Some ********* on a cell ran the red light and flew between the first car and me. If I wasn't paying attention, he would've hit me. If I was first in line, he would've hit me since I turn slow during wetness. Second time I've almost been hit by a red light runner (different cars though). Some people deserve some very bad things to happen to them by the way they drive.

Hello 09 mustang own,

Glad to learn you’re ok. If they decide on repairs, here’s some info on OEM collision parts.

Going to have to agree with the others: likely totaled.

When I hit a deer early last year, it cost nearly $7,000 for the repairs. The damage was in similar places, but yours is far more extensive.
ouch! do you own the car or make car payments?
and did you have gap insurance plan?
they will probably total,if airbags popped,i would say definitely total.
good luck
Would be nice if the OP reported back. Has been a week, he should know by now the verdict..
sorry to hear about that guy, poor car. that looks like a pretty serious repair there. if they do total it, look on the bright side, 5.0 down payment? sorry again
Well, if the frame is bent, the car is totaled. Driving on a bent frame is like walking on a fractured leg.

thats not true. cars dont use the same type of frame they use to. subframes and unibody are repaired on a daily basis. yes its a lengthy and expensive process to repair them, but just because a cars "frame is bent" is not an instant total damage claim. on older ladder or box frames yes, most of the time it was unrepairable but not on todays cars.
