I noticed on my way home this morning, that when my car is accelerating and gets to right around 4000 rpm's the tac kinda stops climbing momentarily, but after maybe a second, it continues to climb. The car sounds like it is still cruising through the RPM range, however I am concerned with the tac not registering it. Think it's an issue with my tranny or is it possibly my tachometer just kinda stuttering for a second?

Thanks in advance

Dave,

How does it feel if you are accelerating from 3000 to 5000 rpm?
Do you feel a hesitation? Is there a miss fire or strange sound? (dont look at the tach)

If not, the problem is definitely the tach or a loose or bad connection/cable.

IMHO I'd bring it to a dealer ship. Electronics can freak you out.

Hope this helps out

Thanks, I'll prolly end up doing that. Theres honestly no hesitiation at all anywhere through the rpm range. I did some more testing and it didnt do it in 1st, but it did in 2nd. There are no funny noises or anything. It has 60k plus miles on it but it runs like a top. I have an extended warranty, so ill take it down to the dealership and say "fix it". Thanks again!!!
