Sup, iv searched thru the tech forums and all and seen plenty of things i can do do increase perfromance, nun pertained to me with my budget or current skills set tho lol:bigthumbsup, question is wht can i do to my 93' 5 spd. 2.3 n/a ford mustang lx hatch to increase hp,mpg without going all out motor swap.

Cars current status.
Probly needs plugs,Oil change,general check up ect.
22-24 mpg city. 24-26 mpg highway.
aprox 100-105 hp.

Also, i dnt believe i need to worry about emmisions or anything, because my cars a lil older nd dnt requir cats or nuthing i do believe.

What is the extent of you capabilities when it comes to MOTORS????

Well allabout, go ahead and do the general maintanence , plugs , oil change , filter changes and what not. Your car will love you for it. It sounds like your mpg is a little low , mine is more like 29-32 depending on me/my foot. Also invest in a service manual from a parts store. Then you can do some of the more performance type things , CAI , Ranger header , remote TFI module. Like someones quote on here Fast , Cheap , Relaible you can only pick two. Good luck,Greg

Just be forewarned, you won't get anything resembling "performance" out of the n/a 2.3 without spending some serious coin. I tried the bolt-on route and it really doesn't work.

Also, your highway mpg is way too low, I used to average at least 30 mpg in mine.

my motor capabilities are of being able to do basic tune up, tires, brakes, im mechanicly inclined so i catch on good.


thanks greg,a manual from a store is a good idea, would probly awnser any question perfectly, duh me. nd i think i have the tubular headers stock on my car,*i think* lol, i hope.


Im smelling gas, looked at my tank and seen gas, so ima havta drop it nd see where its not put back on right, so thts probly where my Mpg is loosing at, cuz my last estimated mpg is way high then wht i would say it is now :yup: pretty bad.

For a 4 cyl. car its actaully pretty peppy atm needing all the stuff it currently needs like i said erlyer, nd this is coming from someone who isnt a real ford kinda guy.i love my car

ill get pics and **** of wht i did on here sooner er later just cuz.

well tank had a bad o ring, fixed it, then it broke down cuz i think my fuel pump, new one, went out on me, ah its the little things tht r most annyoing

o sold the dang thang, 2.3's or pos. heavy body. no power, spend so much money on it for it to be somthin might as well get a diff car... and i did. lmao. thank u all of u for all ur b/a help it all really did help, just i ant a ford mang never was, and i guess never gunna b. i got my z24 99' cavalier tht is just way to bad ass nd id rather put my money into it.( best girl car for girls ever for its price btw)nd mine is shurly not a stock lookn girl car no more... agin thanks and fuk 2.3 stangs, p.s i traden tht ***** in for 900 bucks trade in ftw, THTS how much it was pissin me off, and how much money i pissed into it. AND STILL after everything i did (full tune up-plugs fluids new gas tank and fuel pump and ect, exhaust*charriebomb blah blah blah, its still only had like 20-24 mpg... i guess to many hills here in nc for tht heavy pos 4cyl.
