Ive gots another question. I bought a comp cam timing chain set from LMR. I didnt know it was adjustable. It has a mark to advance, retard, or keep normal. I know what the terms mean but what would happen exactlly if I used the advance mark or retard mark instead of the factory one? Is it a common practice to use these additional settings on a relatively stock motor?

to advance the camshaft helps bottom end power and retarding it helps top end. on a mostly stock engine the stock mark will work fine.

10-4 on that. I have the same timing set. I forget which setting it's placed at but I had the engine builder set it for power at the higher rpm's.

Unless you have better heads then leave it at the stock mark.

but I do have better heads, Ive got gt40's................just messin with ya :nogrinner. Ill leave it at the stock marks.
