That's the old school way to adjust rockers, I'd rather do that method anyway. You just have to try to minimize the mess from the oil running.

Try the video again, it has invalid parameters.

I still have an old set of clips in my toolbox that covered the oil hole so you didn't make a mess. Haven't used them in years.

Oh sweet! Nothing like the old school tricks! Thanks guys.

Yeah I seen it and thought it was pretty sweet. I'll have to try it that way next time

I have a set of old valve covers, that I cut the center out of, just to adjust rockers this way. Haven't done in a while my self.

The reason no one does it that way on a 5.0 very often is because of access to the driver side valve cover. You have to put the upper intake on, wiring, throttle body, etc. to be able to get it running. Adjust the valves, then take the intake off to put the cover on and then put the intake back on.

In my opinion the only thing you gain by adjusting the valves like that is a big mess and some oil burns.
