Advice for building a menacing mustang. (Hey, it rhymed!)

So, heres the story. I bought a 2006 Mustang GT, Satin Silver. I LOVE the car, its just... well... i thought i wouldn't really care about the color.

I started to see more and more black s197's with the all black look. Super menacing and sleek, fell in love with it. Big cowl hood, black wheels, black head/tail lights = sechs.

^^That is the look i want to achieve, but can it be done in a different way with a satin silver gt?

This one here looks like something i was looking to do for my mustang, but it just doesn't seem to have to same menacing affect as the all black mustang, and a paint job is out of the question.

Advice is much appreciated!

Your linky's no worky.
They do now........
The meanest looking silver stang I have really seen in person had two black stripes running up the car. It was an 02, so it wouldn't look quite like your stang, but if it's look's that you're going after, that might be a possibility. The guy had a ton of decals on it, chrome rims, and the stripes were placed further apart than traditionally. It was a little much in my opinion, but still looked mean.

That didn't rhyme ;)
I think he's looking for alliteration (menacing mustang).:gringreen We get the point.

Haha, yeah, thats whati meant. :shigrin

Pics would be useful! :bigthumbsup
The blackout look is real sharp and looks great on the new models. I prefer the classic look since I consider the new body style to be a throwback to the classic fastback mustangs. But I still can appreciate the blackout. It's nice. As far as coming up with something original without painting your silver a different color; maybe a silver bullet theme with all chrome. They make silver tint for windows so I'd be curious to see if it'd work. It could also fail miserably but thats the risk you take in originality.

You could go for an all silver look?

Silver tinted taillights
+ chrome taillight trim
+ silver tinted windows
+ chrome marker and 3rd light trim
+ Chrome fog bezels
+ (that chrome cervini grille)
+ halo lights(Imo would work well with an all silver look)
+ chrome finish shorty antenna
+ Chrome side light covers
+ shiny chrome rims
+ (If you wanted) Racing stripes a shade off your satin silver, or white would look good, or black to make the rest of the car just stand out.

While that might work out well, be weary of cops. That screams drug dealer to them. But, a little chrome never hurt anyone.:bigthumbsup

I really couldn't go with the all chrome look, i HATE chrome on my car.

I was thinking of a black/red scheme? Its just i wouldn't be to sure of where to put the red besides calipers and wheels...
if youre looking for a sick looking car, check out the veilside kit:hihi:. the car they have in the picture of it is silver with black stripes so youll be able to immediately see what it looks like. its expensive, but i think its totally worth it if you can afford to do whatever you want lol.

click on the product link, then go to aero-fasion, and then click domestic.

I bought Satin Silver instead of black because we frequently have 30-60 day streaks over 100 degrees(like this month for instance). WHen its not 100 I always I wish I had got the black and added silver stripes, not for everyone but I love the look (like the car on this page JMS Chip & Performance Center )

Try using brushed instead of chrome. I have fanblades(not to much chrome) with brushed taillight bezels and a chrome grill trim(can't find brushed). I lowered the back 1" and plan to replace the GT logo with a silver pony badge. I've also like to eventually get some sort of low cowl hood. With the lower stance my car looks pretty tough and gets lots of posative comments(after I clay bar my car it looks crazy like a computer graphic or something!). Probably not the menacing black look you are talking about but you work with what you have. None of the pics in my gallery are current, most of my visual mods are subtle anyway.
An inexpensive option that might interest you would be black hood decal with a black rear spoiler, black trunk trim panel w/ black tail light bezels, and black wheels.

Check my profile pics for Satin Silver with added blackouts. Mine is basically the Steeda Q paintjob, but the black I used has a dark cherry flake in it. Invisible except in direct sun. Not too menacing yet, but add tinted windows and some tinted headlight covers, it would get there. I prefer to be a little more classic and somewhat low profile. And fast.

How about making it menacing for real….make it fast?

If it’s 600hp and pink I assure you its menacing.

lol, true. Sounded like that guy upgraded his exhaust and had a cam swap. I'm sure that would help things in that department.

If you're going to have that big cowel hood...better have something special underneath to back it up...

Yeah it's true that silver isn't quite as mean looking as black. The mod that made mine look meanest is lowering it. HUGE difference in the appearance and worth every penny. I put a Silverhorse honeycomb rear panel and an Astra Hammond chin spoiler to break up all the silver with a little black. The Shelby hood pins help give it the muscle car look too. And don't forget to tint those windows as dark as you can. I'm always on the lookout for the next mean mod too.

Supercharger, internals, etc. if you have the money. Some nos will help take care of business if you don't.
Come on, you guys now all these daily drivers are what keep the race division going.:wavey
Haha, i used those two vids as examples because i plan on buying either long tubes or some new cams.

But, i think i figured it out.

Black wheels, dark tint, cervinis ram air hood, a 21 inch superstripe, and a roush fascia. If anyone has pics of all that combined that would be awesome!

Pics of the superstripe kit. Except imagine it a bit wider.
