If you read my post in 2005-2009 talk then you know my car has been recently involved in two hit and runs and has been keyed. So pretty much I'm looking for a really good alarm. Any that you guys would recommend?

Take a look at viper alarms. They have alot of cool features it will alert you I believe up to a half mile away from the car. but it wont stop your car from being keyed so it may not be worth it. by the time it tells you and you run to the car the person will already be long gone anyway. it might be cheaper just to fix the scratch

I have a viper on my truck. It's kept me from driving when I first got it. Once it's armed your vehicle isn't going anywhere until you disarm it. It won't keep vandals from being A******* though. I feel for you, my last stang was vandalized by some kids throwing eggs off an overpass. Amazing the damage an agg can cause at 75 MPH. All you can do is carry a low deductable.

I have a Viper in my 05 GT. The nice thing about them is you can change the sensitivity of the alarm. Only problem with having it too sensitive is the vibration of a big truck or a loud exhaust will set it off. Tho it has alot of nice features. They can hook the remote up too perform remote start, trunk release, roll down your windows. Redruder is right it won't stop vandals, it will just let you know that your car is being messed with and maybe give you the chance to catch them.

Alarms are worthless in my opinion. When was the last time any of us paid attention to one? Sucks your car got keyed...but an alarm would not have changed a thing. Only thing worth paying for is a tracking device.

Smith & Wesson still makes the best theft deterrent system. An alarm only keeps an honest man honest. I like the viper because it diables the truck not that it makes a buch of noise. However when parked outside the noise will activate me and a loaded 45. Trespassers will be violated.:nono:

Never head of an alarm that prevents accidents and goes off before people touch it.:headscratch:

Maybe, just maybe you have some people who don't like you and they take it out on your car. Why would anybody key your car? Did something happen just before that, like in traffic? If somebody wants to walk by your car and key it, I don't think a alarm system would do you any good.
