Im working on getting the chassis lined up to the point were the fenders fit nicely with the hood. I was measuring out the center of the hood when I noticed that the hood pin was not centered... its actually a quarter of an inch off. That and I just cant manage to get the hood dead center with the cowl... its a sixteenth off of center.

Is that what you get with aftermarket hoods?

How about the Scott Drake ones that claim to use new tooling... those any good?

That and is there a tool to help install the hood springs on the hinge?

just throwing this out there...but if you're going in terms of a single 16th, you're looking at way more precision than those parts/these cars were ever meant to have. A 16th off center isn't even noticeable to the unaided eye.

+1 that's not bad at all. As for the springs, you can you use any tools or brute for, whatever works.
