have a 8.8 diff. with a axle girdle(mac 28800)and I read that you can add extra fluid because of the cover.How much fluid are they talking about. half/qt. qt .Thanks

I would think you should just fill it up to the fill plug.

fill it up, when the fluid starts coming out of the fill plug. in drips. close it up.

I did fill it up and it took 4qt .Though that was to much oil to be turning my causing so foam so took cover off and put in just to qt. and fricton mod.

Add three qts and 8 oz of friction modifier should be fine.
