Does anyone know if the above CAI can pass CA smog both visual inspection and emissions? AM's website doesn't say and I email them with no response on the topic. THX.

I spoke with Airaid this kit or any other CAI will not pass CA testing.

You will have to remove CAI and reinstall OEM.

ok, thanks. sorry about posting in the 05-10 section first thread

There are no smog legal CAI for 2011+ V6s and there never will be. The stock intake has a hydrocarbon trap in its lid to capture fuel vapors that might escape. It is part of the EVAP emissions equipment and it is against the law to remove or even move it. Because of that, no aftermarket parts will be able to pass the CARB inspection because they tamper with factory emissions equipment.

Will a CAI for 05-10 pass a smog check? Or are aftermarket intakes a no all around?

email reply from AEM when I asked about CARB certification -

Most AEM intake systems are submitted for a CARB E.O. approval but we can’t guarantee when or if it will be given the exemption. It all depends on the new emission laws for each model year.

Please check back regularly for updates.

I called airraid they basically said what you guys have already said. submitted for a CARB E.O. approval but we can’t guarantee when or if it will be given the exemption.

They suggested to replace the OE box when inspection is required since it's a 30 min or so install

+1

I seriously doubt CARB will give it the okay because of what I stated above. It really depends on how much money they give CARB in the annual extortion fee to approve products.
