Hey all...

I just installed an AirAid on my 2012 V6 automatic...went off without a hitch for the most part.

When I turned the first corner on the road, and started a moderate acceleration, she "back-fired" once...scared the crap outta the wife! - anybody else have that problem? I figure the computer had to adjust the mixture once the new system was installed.

After that, everything seemd to go smoothly, and the acceleration is HELLACIOUS! I truly think this V6 is a bit quicker than my 2007 GT was...:worship

My Bassani axel-backs will be installed Wednesday :bigthumbsup

Nope, I didn't notice any type of back-fire after installing mine. Did you disconnect the battery cable before install? When I first started mine up, it took an extra 2 seconds or so to start which I assume is the computer getting sync'ed back up after being disconnected for an hour. I did notice the car acting a bit squirrely right after install, but I attributed that to the variable data needing to be relogged.

It drives great now with about 500 miles on the intake! :bigthumbsup

Yeah Joe...the car went "squirly-whirly" after I had everything hooked up and went to turn the key...dials flipped all over, key wouldn't turn off in the ignition for a few seconds, and then the flippin car died!

When I restarted it, everything "re-booted" and has been fine since...scared the poo-poo out of the wife....:grinroll:

I don't see Arco on this list...I normally get Arco premium gas cuz it's right around the corner and cheap compared to the other guys who are a few blocks away...is Arco considered cheap gas?
I hope you're not serious? ARCO/AM-PM is plentiful but has had a long-standing reputation for being "cheap/watered down/more environmentally sound" gas. It's decent in a pinch, but I wouldn't run it long-term. It's more a personal opinion than anything else, as I've used it in plenty of cars, but none of them had the output of this one. You're most likely losing out by not using the higher class "stinky" gas like Shell, Chevron, Exxon, Mobil, Gulf; the "big boys."

...no problems since that first "engine burp"....

The dealership said the car didn't need a tuneup after adding the AirAid CAI...the computer would adjust things...

Just had the Bassani's put on this morning :grinroll:...now to break them in adequately...'

As to fuel...we normally fill up at Walmart (home grown gasoline)and use MidGrade or Premium...and have NEVER had any issues with the gas in our 2007 GT or other cars....the computer was adjusting....she's purring again....:worship

No worries...it happens to the best of us. I've looked over documents and caught the smallest little errors only to miss something that should've been obvious.
