I wonder if that has to do with the weight or the brand change?
I run Amsoil S/S 10w-30.
I just ordered 9 quarts of SS 5W-30 and an Amsoil filter.
Any particular reason for the w30 instead of w20?
30 weight oil is better for heat, and high RPM.

Why does Ford recommend w20?

To meet Cafe' standards.

Which Amsoil filter are you using?
I just had the oil changed at the dealer
Motorcraft 5-20 semi synthetic, and a motorcraft FL500S filter
$38

You can't even buy the oil and filter at autozone for that price, and I didn't get my hands dirty, and have proof that I changed the oil, so no warrantee issues down the road

I bet it would be even more if you had to pay for Amsoil
I thought I read somewhere that it's not a good idea to switch to full synthetic until a certain amount of miles?

Considering your car is tuned, I would think your warranty is toast anyway?

After 5000km I [email protected] warranty out the door and never looked back ;)

Sure wish I had your money to throw away, but then again common sence is priceless.
Which Amsoil filter are you using?
EAO17-EA Absolute Efficiency Oil Filter
I tried the 10-30 when I had about 8000 miles on mine and mine burned alot. Swapped back to motorcraft syn blend and it stopped. I want to try again but idk.

Well if I do something stupid, I would handle it on my own, though my dealer is cool with the roush charger. Plus in your case since it is your first oil change if you bring it to the dealer you will have proof it was done by them. Plus why not let them get there hands dirty

Ford recomends the motorcraft semi synthetic oil, at autozone it is $5.50 per quart, and the filter is around 5 bucks, so for 38 bucks which included tax, and disposal of the oil, is a no brainer for me.

What should be a no brainer is stepping up to a 30wt oil considering you are supercharged. There is no way in hell I would run that Motorcrap 5w/20 in a supercharged Mustang. Ford recommends 5w/20 for a stock Mustang yours is far from stock. The HT/HS for most 20 weight oils are 2.6-2.8 with the exception of redline which is 3.3 right up there with most 30 weight full synoils.
