Angel Eye Projector Lights Problem

7596 Views 7 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  jessekelli
Hey all,

I put in some black angel eye projector lights about 2 months ago. They seem to be adjusted properly, but when I'm driving down the road, I see a line along a treeline or house where the light just stops. Are they still too low? Or do I have them set wrong?

Thanks :)

That is the way projector lights work.
There is no bleed over at the edge of the light.
It is basically a focused beam of light.

Ah! I see :) Thank you for your answer!:bigthumbsup
im having problems with my projector lights as well. just the installation has been horrible. i have no idea where to get that specific headlight adjustment tool but hopefully where theyre at now will be good. i havent tested them on the road yet. but they sure have been a pain in the azz.
I too have a line across the top. I believe it's perfectly normal. Helps keep the directed light out of people's mirrors before you pass them is what I figure. :D
As for setting them up, here's what I found out the hard way:
The lone adjuster (close to the edge of the light - nearer to the rad) pulls them in or moves them out and the other one (closer to the side of the car) moves them up and down. The trick is to get the bottom one closer to the side set to the correct length first, then slide them in and adjust from there. I used a long set of pliers to turn the adjustment screws. Takes a while but it dos the job. They are a real PITA to get in but once there, they are worth it.

As a side note for anyone needing the info, I actually broke one of the bottom unadjustable pegs right off while installing on my 94 GT. The whole plastic support cracked off. J-B Weld got it back on and she's been holding tight ever since. Use the black stuff that takes 4 hours to set. You'll want the extra strength just to make sure. Also, I had to "adjust" the length of the supports (in the light housing on the car) that the black square supports slide on. They were too long and wouldn't allow the lights to go all the way back.
Sorry, I didn't take pics and I just can't bring myself to open her up again until I have to. That 10 minutes after I cracked the support off and I was putting the stock back on was the worst of my life. When I went to install the second time I completely forgot.

I'm having a little problem with the angel eye halo headlights I put in about a month ago. Got em wired in just fine. The problem is that one of the halos on one of the headlights is now lighting up, but the other halo and the rest of the accent lights on the same headlight light up fine. Both halos and all accent lights on the other headlight light up fine. My question is this - has anyone had a problem with one of the halo lights going out and can you replace the accent and halo lights?
Do you have a warranty?

I installed halos on my 01 and have had zero problems and dozens of complements. If your light is installed correctly and the wire is connected, you should get a circuit. Do you have a short? Maybe some water got in there?

I used electrical tape and shrink-wrap around any exposed connections.

Check your connections for water seepage. Check the halo light independently. You can just ground out the black wire and touch the white wire to your battey + post.

If you still get nothing, I would send it back. Most companies want you to point out faults on their products, so that they know the quality of what they are selling. Call whoever you got them from.
Got mine from Americanmuscle.com

GOOD LUCK!
there is a how to adjust the level of the light on americanmuscle.com under headlights maybe this will help
