Almost the end of the season here in Germany. Today the weather was beautiful so a few of us decided to see how many cars showed up. It wasn't packed, but there were a few nice old Gems there. Enjoy!

Those of us that work for the US Gub'ment pay somewhere close to the US national average...right now it's about $4/gal. We are lucky that we don't have to pay the German prices. So it looks like you pay about $8 a gallon for gas. That's an improvement over time compared to the disparity with US in the late 80s/ early 90s. I remember paying 4 times as much for gas in Germany, so less than double must seem more like a bargain.
Most of them were brought over by American Soldiers and sold here. There are many that import, but they pay out the waazoo. I had a guy just today ask me if I would sell mine. I told him I'd let it go for 30K EURO. He took my number so we'll see if he was serious or not. I normally get asked at least once per show, but so far nobody has taken the bait. First one to give me that price and I'll wrap it with a bow...:winksI was surprised at the City of Prescott police car. Prescott is about an hour and a half from me. I wonder how it ended up in your area?
Amen! That thing was my favorite. It was straight and I talked to the guy who owns it. He said he purchased it in Iowa in the late 90s and it was basically just a wreck with no motor. He said he's worked on it since then piece by piece. I asked him how much he's got into it and he just smiled. It's expensive to do a project like that over here...much more expensive than in the US. But yeah, I owned one in the 80s and it's one of those cars I wish I never got rid of.I will always bleed Ford blue, but I think this Charger is the best representation of classic American style there.
Still a lot of smokers here in Europe. Just last year they made a law that you can't smoke in an eating establishment. Just last year! :nono:I also find it interesting how many smokers are walking around!
Yeah, they got rid of the coupons about two years ago. Now we put money on an Esso credit card that can be used at any Esso around Germany. It's much easier than filling out those damned coupons. The nice thing about the cards is, as long as you have at least $1 on the card you can fill-up. Then, you have to put more money on the card. You can either go to AAFES directly or online to put money on the card so it's much more convenient.I remember the coupons I bought at AAFES so that gas was like $1.50 a gallon or so.
Hohenfels. In the heart of Bavaria. Very pretty place to be, but I'm really getting homesick...A few more years and I'll retire again. :yelpleased:Where you at in Germany? I'm near ramstein

lol...actually, I just took a flight from Germany to the U.S. (sadly for my Dad's funeral) in July and then the flight back to Germany in August and I was able to get online with my ipad while flying across the Atlantic. I was like a kid at Christmas. It was just amazing to me...yeah, I'm old.I bet posting from the plane might be difficult. :winks
