I searched several pages about this without finding an answer, but hopefully someone can help.

I have a 2012 V6 base model but love the look of the grille mounted fog lights. I can't afford to go the whole bumper/grille conversion route. I have seen some very impressive behind the grille DIY jobs, but I prefer the lights more towards the outer edges of the grille.

What I would like to know is if anyone has done, or seen, a DIY install that involved mounting the lights in the "solid" backing areas of the grille.

Some Ebay items seem to show that it's possible, but none talk about installation. Any help would be appreciated.

If you've found a guide for putting foglights into the ventilated portion of the upper grille, you have all you need to do what you want.

Buy the OEM GT foglights, measure, and get to dremel-ing IMO.

Actually, IIRC, there was a person or two who took the OEM GT Upper Grill section (The actual grill) and cut it to fit into the V6's integrated grill surround (it's a separate piece in the 10-12 GT front bumper).

Ya gotta buy a harness or make one yourself, since the stock V6 ones won't work. [Don't] Ask me how I know...

Thanks. The GT "cut out" would probably get me a better end result (Looks and ability to aim the lights). I don't get why Ford made the solid sections anyways. Extra material cost for no reason.
