Okay, sorry to bug you guys about this again but heres the deal. I got a 1974 Mustang II that without a doubt needs a new muffler due to rust. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what I should do in this case? What would be the cheapest way to replace this ?

Call around and find the cheapest price. Practically every muffler place should have some sort of suitable replacement.

I have an idea, try thrush welded. check out some vids on youtube. and if thats too much, theres turbo mufflers as well. I'm going thrush myself. they sound and perform well and are half the price of a flowmaster. Got 2 of them for $87 vs. one flow for $87 or so. just check out some vids and go from there. youll like what you find.

Summit has some fully welded mufflers for about $40 a piece that are pretty solid too. I have those on my 83 and have no complaints. They're solid and I don't expect they'll rust away for a long time.
