Anyone else getting ready to pull their ****box out of the garage for the winter?

I am going to TRY and drive the Mustangs year round though! My wife will be driving the automatic and she will not use it on snowy days (drive her front wheel drive Gran Am) BUT I am going to drive the stick and try to decide each day on just "how deep the snow is basis....?"

Especially you mr. flubber - I used to have the '96 version of your Saturn - and going from the Mustang to that would be torture.:weeps

I'll run mine through the winter as long as there's no precip. Otherwise I'll drive my 03 Ram 3500 4x4 diesel (if I can afford diesel).

I'm not saying it was my finest moment. I was a new parent, and I thought that was what you were supposed to buy.

I would be too concerned about road salt, Mine is a Vert, so the top would not hold up well against mother nature. Good Luck plowing through the snow, go easy on the parking lot donuts.

Wish I had a "P.O.S." to drive. So far it looks like I'm gonna try and drive through this Wisconsin winter. :sadcry:

I don't mind parking it for the winter. It keeps the miles down on it and when you haven't driven it for a bit....it's like having a new car again....it always stays fun and fresh to drive!

This is my first winter with it so it should be interesting. on the bright side, those crafty Germans seem to build good winter cars.

Boglin, i've always had a cheap car for a daily driver, by cheap I mean under 1,000 dollars. I stepped up with the Porsche, it set me back a cool 1,100 bucks.
I think I may have overpaid some.

nothing else for me to drive...luckily i work within walking distance :-D

Yeah, my sixteen year old is gonna be pissed! I'm taking his car and making him ride the bus to and from school on bad weather days. As long as there is no snow on the ground I'll drive the 'vert with the "original" tires and rims; if it's white out...his ass is on the bus! hahahahahahaha :grinroll:

It won't be long until I have to put the original rims and tires back on. Of course that is also when I paint the calipers gloss black (funny how things work out). :winks

- Two disc brakes including two ventilated discs
- Fullsize steel rim under body spare wheel
- Wishbone front suspension with stabilizer bar independent with coil springs , beam rear suspension rigid with leaf springs

Just put new brakes on my winter vehicle, a good ole 1991 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 (with Plow )

I must say that it is interesting to drive as it is too a 5-speed. I wish it has the torque of the Mustang, but oh well. Still better then driving a Mustang GT in the snow.

Here in north Texas, we don't get too much of the white stuff. We do however get the dreaded freezing rain! :doh: No way I'll take my vert out on days like that. I will mostly be driving the '02 Explorer Sport Trac or the '01 Explorer Sport. In fact, my Sport Trac has not been driven much in the past 4 months I have had the vert. I bet it is wondering why I have abandoned it. :laughlitt :wavey

i live in wisconsin,its all reedy geting cold out here,but i had a mounth to go till i had to put it away,but one of my valve got burned,so iv got my 1500 pickup that im driving and rebiulding the engine that will go in the 95 monte for gas mileage.

If we get any white stuff, this town pretty much shuts down. It turns into play time.(sledding, snow ball fights, etc.) If we do drive, it will be the good ole 99 civic.....:drink:
