I'v recently blew a sparkplugg while driving on the highway. I was so upset with my self thinking I might of over tighten it. But I been hearing that its common thing on the 4.6L heads.
Has anyone else had this problem and whats the best kit to use to repair it while head is in the car?
I'v checked to see if theirs a recall by Ford. They said no.

yea that happened to one of my buddies with his 5.4L in his truck he just bought a repair kit for it and the sleeve seems to be holding up just fine
Unfortunately its a farily common issue, ford and their wonderful thinkers did not put many threads in and a lot of people have reported this. There is no recall I've heard of, but ford did fix it in later productions. The rest of us got screwed. It can be fixed on the car, but IMO that is something that calls for pulling the heads.

It is very common on the Windsor 2V heads. Trucks and 99/00 Mustangs.

I have a set of St 2 Windsor heads that i fear will eventually pop one so i'm debating installing timecerts in every plug.
I just installed ZEX power tune plugs from AM. WELL lets say the rear passenger plug was not the least bit easy. Needless to say I backed out of the garage idle-ing rough, when It finally evend out I pull out of my driveway and stalled out, the plug blew out but luckily still on the boot, easy fix. I made sure to torque it real good the second time.
