Anyone ever get nailed by the cops?

I did last night. Had this thing 2 weeks. A guy in a GT pulled up and was toying with me in my V6. We sort of did this leapfrog thing for a bit and a state trooper stopped us. He almsot arrested us both, but cited us each for 90 in a 65. I was terrified of goign to jail though.

My wife wasn't too happy. Didnt' tell her I was racing, just that I got a ticket. She told me we're getting rid of the car if I get another one. So guess I'm done with any kills.

These cars are a ton of fun to speed in. I will be the first guy to admit i have been tempted thousands of time to speed and nail that pedal to the floor for that instant rush of adreneline. But thats what they made the track for. Keep your speeding on there and you don't have to worry about tickets, but you still need to be safe about it.

But thats probably another reason i bought a convertible, i tend to go slow with the top down and just cruise and gobble it all up and love every minute and every compliment that i get on my car.

I learned a long time ago it is just not worth it. As much as I would love to drive like a bat out of hell I try to maintain my speed for the most part. Tickets out here in California are not cheap by any means. And sometimes the cops are not so cool when you go over the speed limit by a bunch. And you really cannot blame them either.

As a matter of fact, I got stopped last night. I had forgotten to turn my headlights on. I looked at the dash, and the lights were on, and I didn't even think of the headlights.

A trooper stopped me, and told me what he was stopping me for, he got my license, ins. paper, and proof of registration. He came back, and was very nice, and just gave me a warning.

I was nice, he was nice, = NO TICKET !!!!!!!! :bigthumbsup

I almost got nailed a few months ago for "racing." I took off quick from an intersection and ran out first gear til i was doin about 15 over and let off... when i looked in my rearview a cop was weaving thru traffic with his lights on. We pulled over and he chewed me out big time and threatened me with a $1000 ticket for "racing" (I wasnt actually racing but he figured i was since i took off so quick and there was a V6 SN95 next to me at the light)... Long story short he was ticked but let me off with a warning... Taught me a lesson tho!

A close friend of mine here is second under the warden at a federal prison and most of his friends are cops,a couple of state troopers a couple of town clowns and they do the same things as we do and worse the only difference is there allowed. Driving buzzed up,speeding, running red lights and Ive seen it firsthand.

Now I know there`s probably "law enforcement" people on this site so I`ll stop there so as not to offend anyone but you can just imagine what I think of them..........

My buddy with the Harley Davidson SC Truck got nailed for doing 125+ in a 55 zone plus passing over double solid lines. I was surprised he wasn't arrested and had his truck and license taken away. His fine was 800+ dollars and had to go to traffic school. Talk about cutting him some slack. I told him you got lucky and you should of been in jail.

I had a buddy years ago get a ticket for laying drag, $500.00 fine, the bad thing is that he didnt' do it. It was a big group of muscle cars and the guy in front of him done it, he just drove in the smoke.
I was about five blocks from the drag strip, pulling out of the gas station and got on it hard. Halfway through first, the rear end broke loose and I stayed on it, till it straightened out.

I see blue lights, in the rear view... I figure I'm busted and totally guilty.

Guy pulls to the left lane and goes around me and turns off his lights.

Message recieved. I try to keep it under control in the minutes before I get to the track now.
