so i'm an idiot, i put a throttle body spacer on my car, yes, save the jokes, well anyways, it made a cool screaming sound wen i first put it on, but now, after the addition of my CAI that "cool sound" is now a SUPER annoying SCREECH that is really loud and annoying. well i want to take it off, but.......... i followed the install instructions on american muscle and the guy said to use silicon sealant to make sure an airtight seal was acheived. well, now the stupid thing is stuck to my throttle body, and i cannot, for the love of God!!!!! get the stupid thing off!!!! any ideas?

Talk dirty to it.....:shigrin

you might be able to cut it with fishing line enough to get it to move......
You can try a razor blade. But when you go back on with it leave the silicone off. you have a "O" ring that will seal up just fine. and make sure you have all the old silicone off.

At least you have a new paper weight.

Probably cast aluminum. Try a crowbar. :nogrinner or, throw one of your gears at it.
Razor blade and/or fishing line should do it like mentioned above.
could soak the bottom half in mineral spirits, might eat the silicone off.

that wont hurt the metal of my TB will it? and where can i get it, like home depot or somehting?
maybe start the cut with the razor, spritz some spitis on it,hit it with the old gear, try the fishing line, use the 5 lb hammer with the pry bar, all while talking dirty to it the whole time :gringreen but thats my me

Does it have two or three hooks in the back or just one clasp in the front?
Oh, sorry. Guess I was thinking of something else...
You can buy a new throttle body...they are dirt cheap on ebay.

i can buy a bag of potting soil for 5 bucks, so if they arent as cheap as that, then its just not an option
im gunna say talk dirty to it while doing the fishing line trick and add a combo to the trick by going at it with the razor too!:shigrin

but in all seriousness I think the fishing line should work.... if it doesn't... im sure everyone can brainstorm some more ideas.
i'd take a knife to it and just hack away the silicone then use the kinfe to give me some leverage before i pry it off.

Haha!

Or, put more silicone around it to seal the leak and screw it. It'll give you time to hunt down a stock TB on eBay and replace the entire mess.

I got a TB spacer on eBay for dirt cheap, and I've been running one on my car for over a year with no silicone and no problems. Next time, use gasket maker instead of silicone and you won't be on such a mission.
well i tried the fishing line trick, no luck, tried the razor, no luck, tried both at once, no luck, and i tried adding more silicone sealant, no luck. any sixers on here replace their throttle body that wants to make a couple bucks?
