Anyone know our engine's oil capacity offhand?

My car is coming up for one of it's maintenance intervals, the first one since I bought it used at 20,000 KM. This is a recommended one not required so I'm gonna skip going to the dealership and let my favourite oil jockeys look it over. So while I'm at my local speedshop in a few days I figure I'll pick up a few bottles of Royal Purple and I wanted to know how much to get.

The GT's are 6 quarts, and I'm thinking the V6's are 5. If no one chimes in by the time I get home, I'll check in my Haynes manual.
^Yup your right, it's 5 quarts:bigthumbsup
Cool... It's nice to know I can remember something! I'm not even 30, and I'm getting old and forgetful.

Haynes manual says 5 quarts of 5W-30 for the 4.0L V6, and 6 quarts of 5W-20 for the 4.6L V8.

On a side note, not sure how much they run, but my wife got me the Haynes manual, specific to the S197, and I really like it.

Amazon.com: Ford Mustang: 2005 through 2007 (Chilton's Total Car Care Repair Manual): Mike Stubblefield: Books

Runs about $20.

I have the Chilton. I like it. Great book, in my opinion.

The Haynes and Chilton manuals for 2005-2007 manual are identical.

Haynes runs about $17

Yeah it's always good to have a Haynes Manual or any other on hand.
I like the Chilton, but nothing gives more info than the Ford Service Manuals. I recommend picking up a set of these if you plan on really doing work to your car. I found some on ebay for a good price, instead of paying the ridiculous dealer prices.

I agree about the superiority of the Ford manuals. They have been invaluable over te past three years for doing work, troubleshooting and planning projects. I got mine from Helm, so they weren't cheap, but they are about 4 to five times the size of a Chiltons with a wealth of information. The one for my F-150 is two volumes, each about 3.5" thick!
