I'm just wondering if I'm alone in this or not. I've ordered a couple mods for my 2012 and the parts have come in before my car has lol! Nothing really big just some interior bits and my girlfriend got my new Lloyd mats for my birthday. Am I just a little too anxious for my stang or is this normal? Has anyone else done this???

Yeah... I bought a few things...

Airaid CAI, Shelby Kicker sub, new speakers for front doors, cargo net, spare tire (V6 doesn't come with one...), and a set of take off wheels from a 2011 GT which I plan on putting winter tires on. Oh, and 2 Mustang keychains ;)

I waited a whole 12 days for mine to come in. It was driving me nuts. I spent almost every night two or three hours reading all of these forums hunting for info on mods. It killed me waiting, but I have really enjoyed the car so far. No mods yet...have to wait for the "bosses" blood pressure to come down a bit first. My dealer was not able to track the car at all until it arrived at the rail yard in Phoenix...then it arrived at the dealer that day. Coincidentally, 20 minutes after I left from dropping off the rest of the cash downpayment. Jerks.

The majority of my mods were purchased before and if they were not purchased, I decided exactly what I would be doing so that when I got my Mustang, I would decide whether or not I wanted to purchase them.

Here goes my before list:

  • Roush style side decal, custom letters, flat black
  • Factory style hood scoop
  • Factory style, all painted, pedestal spoiler
  • Eleanor style 1/4 louvers
  • Tint - 50% sides, 35% back
  • Venture shield - bumper, hood & mirrors
  • Dynomax catback
  • Real brushed aluminum interior trim
  • (4) RF 6x8 3-way speakers
  • Sparky fog light kit (for automatic lights)
  • Nokya 7k headlight bulbs
  • GT500 rear fascia
  • GT500 splash guards
  • Blackfire Wet Diamond Paint Sealant
  • A bunch of car detailing product from Chemical Guys
  • Dragon Fibre microfiber cloths
  • Meguiars smooth/mild claybar kit

After list:
  • iPad protector for my factory deck faceplate
  • Nokya 7k H11 bulbs for my fog lights
  • MaxThunder sub enclosure
  • RF 2-Ohm/VC DVC 12" shallow mount P3
  • RE Audio XTX 1500.1
  • 4-guage amp wiring kit

Future mods:
  • VHT Nightshades (gonna do a single pass on headlights and triple pass on tail lights, masking the reverse lights)
  • Metra/Scoche kit - pending on a decent deck that is fairly flush mount and does usb sync to android tablets
  • Down the road: aluminum flywheel, aluminum driveshaft, sport struts/shocks, supercharger/turbo once my 30k warranty is up (should be by next spring) & custom dyno tune

I picked up JLT oil separators, Airaid CAI & a Barton bracket. I'm still waiting for my GT500 axle backs to arrive. I wanted to buy some suspension parts, but Sam Strano wouldn't sell me any, until I'd had my car for a while. He's a man of integrity, most would've just rang up an easy sale.

Before my car arrived, I had ordered JLT oil catch can, Barton shift bracket, Steeda shift knob, and some floor mats. Shortly after arriving, I also ordered the axle vent "turkey baster" as I noticed some oil leaking out of the vent and read about the TSB for 2005-2010 cars.
