Anyone running Maximum Motorsports rear control arms? I need to know if noise is ok

I just finished installing the Maximum Motorsports road and track grip box on my 11 GT. I did the front yesterday and the rear today, and actually went for a quick drive when just the front was done to make sure things felt OK. Everything felt and sounded fine. After installing the rear, I have much more rear end noise than I was expecting. Its a constant whirring and very noticeable. I'm wondering if anyone else experienced this when switching to rear lower control arms with heim joints or if I have an additional problem with pinion angle or I somehow goofed something else up.

Any input would be appreciated

Welcome to sphericals. Noise is normal, worse if you have a torsen

Thanks. I knew there would be noise, I'm just a little surprised at how much there really is. I'm also a little spooked since I had a problem with bearings in the rear axle last year, long story but this sounded similar. Its not quite the same though.

But anyways, a constant, speed dependent whir is what I should expect? Guess I'll be cranking up the radio.

Yeah pretty much. It will change if you're on or off power, going up or down hill, or turning left or right. Every vibration from the axle is now rigidly going into the body of the car.

Makes sense. I just did a little more driving with the kit. It feels like every drive line noise is just being directly piped to the cabin, so a little diff/axle whirr is probably going to be par for the course. The handling though... I can't wait to get back on track with this thing.

Yep, it's nice. Get a spherical UCA and it really gets nice, and also that much louder.
The day someone comes up with dynamat-filled, indestructible, lifetime service rod ends... we'll have an instant millionaire on our hands.

Til then? Yeah. I had heims on the suspension links in my old off-road rig. My DD 'stang is staying with poly or rubber. I'll pass on that wonderful experience, although I'd love to experience the way your car handles.

Even with the rubbery OEM control arms remaining, my suspension overhaul was an astonishing difference. I'd trade my MGW for a factory shifter and downgrade to a V6 before I went back to the stock Brembo / track package setup!
