AOD Help Needed

I installed the UPR OD button relocation kit with a new aluminum shift knob. I had to cut the button wires in order to remove the button asssembly from the stock shift handle. Before bolting everything back together, I tested to make sure everything worked, and it di djust fine. Now nothig happens when I hit the button. No "OD OFF" light on the dash and the OD does not disengage. Two questions, 1) Am I going to screw up the tranny if I continue to drive the car, and 2) anybody got any ideas to fix it? My normally trusty Haynes manual doesn't even mention AOD diagnostics!! Thanks

maybe u need to reinstall the whole kit to make sure that u reconnected the wires and nothing came loose while you were drivin......with my ride there is a lot of vibration cuz of the exhaust......also with my springs, there are some pretty harsh roads that i have to drive so it tends to shake things up a bit.....good luck
