Of course you need the '94-'95 specific bell and tranny, the '83-'93 are different. I do know that there are differences in the neutral safety switch circuit between the auto and manual cars from '86-'93. If you are switching computers, then this is crucial. My point is that there is probably something like that with the '94-'95s. Could be a few things.
Ghostdog50 started a couple of threads in like late November and December of 2004 regarding some issues with an '89 that had this swap. You can search for the thread on this site under Ghostdog50. The one thread is called something like "EEC not outputting codes". Then there is another thread from within a few weeks that is related. You want to read Tmoss's reply, he explains the neutral switch thing.
