Are 2005 Mustang V6 transmissions in production?

2005 Mustang V6 under warranty needs a new transmission. Dealer says the transmissions are not in production. Is this true? Premium Care warranty requires genuine Ford parts not some aftermarket substitute. What should the dealer do to replace the transmission?
I can't believe that there is not a new transmission somewhere in the continental US that can be shipped to the dealer.

why wouldn't they just rebuild it? They have transmission specialists on staff

Agreed, have them rebuild it. But Im sure somewhere out there a Ford Tranny is sitting waiting for someone like you. Im sure there's no new ones being built but there has to be a new one somewhere.

It would be a Tremec-built T-5 that is unique to the 2005-2010 V-6 models.
There is a slight difference in the tail housings and shift mechanisms between the earlier ones and the last ones built.

It would NOT be in production, but I would think Ford would have some in their parts system, but then again, they have been discontinuing Tremec transmission parts left and right recently.

If Ford doesn't have the parts, they have continued to be available through Tremec distributors, just not whole transmissions...

If it's under warranty they have to either give you a new one or rebuild yours. They may not make them anymore but a dealer somewhere should have one they can get
