Hey guys,

I know that sounds like a silly question but I honestly have no idea.

For example, theres a guy near me on craigslist selling a used 68 8" rear drum to drum for $200. Would it be worth my time to refurbish it (i.e. sandblast, new brake lines, wheel cylinders, wheel bearings, and paint)??

I dont know prices for rebuilt rear ends

Thanks!

8 inch rears are really not worth much if it were a 9 i would say maybe but i would pass

I guess it depends on who needs it, but I picked up a complete 9", clean as a pin with no rust for $150.

If it was Jennifer Aniston's rear end, then it's worth TONS... Ah, but i digress.

I guess it all depends on your usage. If you're going for the show circuit/#'s matching bit the sure but if you're looking for performance, i'd jump to a 9in or even swap in an 8.8 w/discs. Other than swapping on leaf mounts and a few other small things, i think the 8.8 is a good swap and you can get them for cheap. Just my .02.
