no cheap parts....except the head casting itself:nono:

thats like building a mansion on a foundation of popsicle sticks

the money you pay for those bare castings, plus good valve springs, valves, and the needed machine work AND port work, you'll have spent as much $$ as a set of GOOD out of the box aluminum heads that will still out perform the procomps

they're known for having sloppy castings that dont always seal and have casting flash all over the runners

do yourself a favor

add up the price of the heads, plus the 16 valves, and a set of springs, locks retainers and valve stem seals

see where you are..then add another $200-300 for machine work and porting..tel me if you still want to go that route and have a head that gets outperformed by a box-stock head like a trickflow, afr, canfield, etc..

AND,

Get yourself a nice matching cam. Else you'll really hold back that or any combo for that matter.

H/C/I !

Each are needed to truly make full use of the other two.

Plus do the cam now instead of having to pull half your motor apart in a few months when you realize you should have done it while everything was already apart!

+2 even if it means you gotta hold off and save some more money. It is better doing right the first time than having to do it twice and spend more money.
