My drivers side window motor is dead on my 89 LX 5.0... I don't have $50 right now to buy a new motor. so I was wondering if I could temporarily use the motor out of the passenger door in my drivers door. But I wasn't sure if there universal fit for both sides or if there drivers side and passenger side specific?

Fixit maybe

They are specific, but pretty easy to pull.
I was broke last week and my drivers window was dead and down.
$75 for a new one!
I had nothing to loose, so I tore down the motor carefully and found a broken brush lead.
Cleaned it all up, Soldered the lead to the respective mount, and slid it all back together and it worked!
Loading the brushes does require a little craftiness with safety wire.
I had researched some on this board and found a great reference to an article on rebuilding the window mechanism. Apparently there are re-brush kits for these, which will fix most of these failures.

the actual motor is swapable, but you have to deal with taking it apart and setting the bushings properly. the motor housing bolts directly to the gear housing, and the actual motor (armature) has the worm gear as one piece.....
