I have a 2000 v6 3.8l mustang with an auto tranny but I want a 5 speed, I found a 96 that I can get all the parts from for $300 if I pick it myself the 96 only has 3k miles more than mine.
Also would the 96 fit in the 2000?

It would fit but... the speedo cable will not be correct. The 96 has a manual gear speedo cable. I tried to do it with my 02 and I gave up on the project once I noticed that.
