It depends how much horses a V6 can bring to the table, then you'll know what type of power your 4R70W can handle.

To upgrade the strength of your 4R70W, you should look into the JMod or Jerry Mod. It'll upgrade the strength and longetivity of your automatic transmission. If you want an even more upgrade on power output, you should look into high-performance torque converters.

There are only a few that know about modifications for the 4R70W, it's a good thing you asked.

VAP Auto - J-Mod Kits (Jerry Mod "JMod")

Hey, she's an '01 V6 too...and I've gotten jaws to drop from GT owners.
Thanks white for the info and that j-mod kit,i will look into for sure:bigthumbsup
you have a 4R70W, and you can do a jmod valve body swap, accumulator swap, add a transgo shift kit to it, 3000rpm stall torque convertor, and you have yourself one mean auto tranny..

Was looking at stall torque converters in another thread. What is that used for?

they multiply your torque...basically allows you to launch at higher rpms in an auto
B&M High Performance Torque Convertors are only for V8s.

Is there anywhere else?
if you want to clean up the look of the shifter, and row the boat yourself sort of, you can get a B&M hammer shifter
