Wel, I put my baby in the shop again............I am nervous.............

Here's what she's gettin....... :worship


Comp cams & springs.
BBK ceramic longtubes.
BBK short catted X-pipe.
Tremec TKO600 5spd.
Tremec Bell Housing.
Alum. Drive shaft.
Center F 31 sp. clutch.
Superior 31 sp. axels.
Detroit locker with Switchable true lock and free lock (button).
Mondo By-pass Valve.
Sumped gas tank.

And I just put on some Nitto NT-01's.......wow do they stick!!!!

I should be well over 550 hp if Manny (HPP Racing) can tune it like he did last time...lol!!!

James at LMT (late model tech) is doing the major work.......$250 for cam & spring install.........but he had to remove the headcovers anyways to fix my oil leak so it may be more? I can get a quote from him for ya tho........

How come Manny didnt do your cam install? He quoted me 450.00 to install BBK L/T headers, BBK catted x pipe, and magnaflow magnapack. What did you pay for your Headers and exhaust?

Everything else looked good, though. Let us know what kind of power she makes.

Dude I really hope that's not a factory block. 550 is gonna break that thing.

Not nothing is stock.......lol!!!
I got an alum. truck /cobra block (thick ass walls), J&E's, Manly rods, Billett crank..etc.......It's all good...... :cool:

Headers are pretty much headers...........The 2-4 hp you gain is not really signifigant.......especially depending on your/my setup.......I do think the BBK LT's will flow way better than my Shorty JBA's......

Manny is too busy, and James and Bryan do good work........Bryan works for Manny (HPP) and at LMT with James. Manny is doing my tune tho............. :smoke:

If you check out your May 2004 5.0 Mustang issue, you'll see that a set of Hooker headers made 25 more horsepower on a 347 than a set of BBK's did. But, like you said, that gain really isn't all that significant. :rolleyes:

+1.. There are good longtubes that will put up around 15rwhp and around 20 peak torque to the 2v 281... I wasn't sure i believed it until the guy that did my exhaust and gears showed me the dyno sheets, then proceeded to try to convince me to put nitrous in my car instead of LT's...

Well, I didn't want to "hunt" down an Xpipe that would work with those...........Sure the BBK short Xpipe might work, but the BBK LT's are made for the BBK Xpipe... Hooker does not have an X pipe with cats.

My other issue with all this "more Hp-vs-less hp"..is this ....it all depends on your setup and what you have before & after the headers............Sure Hookers may have made more Hp, but with what cam, heads, Xpipe, and Catbacks?????? No I will not read the article....
I think that if I had the same setup as the article it may be true...but.......I don't.....


My exhaust is going to be really loud though......With my SLP catbacks!!!
