Backlighting on Temp Gauge Dead 2012 40 miles

Backlighting on my temp gauge is out. The needle light is working. Guess I am going in for a warrenty repair at 40 miles. Will this require them to change the whole console with the speedo and tach. Looks Like one piece?

well guys, by now we all know.."don't ever buy the first year edition of a new design" R&D gets the feed back from poor souls that bought these vehicles and they improve. The transmissions will get an over haul as will some other major issues. Beautiful cars, but they are what they are "redesigned models from bottom up"

Don't listen to these A-Holes. It's a simple fix for the dealer. These things happen. The front side marker light went out on my car the day I bought it. The Dealer fixed it in 10 mins.

Agreed. Your car was obviously built at closing time on a friday right after a 'smoke' break. I'm surprised it made it off the lot, much less 40 miles.

I didn't realize that everyone is having so many problems with this model mustang. Most of the dealers in the area only have one or two in stock. Should I be on the lookout for any other problems/recalls? Does anyone know if this is a one piece instrument cluster or if they can just pull it out and change a bulb?

wow thats uncalled for. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, and alot of recent posts are saying these cars are having serious issues Transmissions being the #1 complaint., so imo its a new design flaw, and will be corrected. Some others think they are POS's, thats their right. No need to call people names.:heha::grinroll:

As for a 10 min fix, the side markers are easy as hell to get to. 2 screws and off it comes, the cluster is a bit more intricate.

All back lights are usually LEDS or bulbs. it is a simple fix. As long as you know how and have the tools to get to the cluster. Warranty, thats what you paid for.

Hopefully they get you fixed and on your way! I just had mine in for warranty work and they cleaned and filled up the tank for me.
They replaced the entire cluster. Thanks
That's good news to hear.
They replaced the entire cluster. Thanks
