Bad Fuel Injector?

1316 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Stangfanatic42
Hey, I've been getting misfires on cylinder 4 a lot. I've replaced the coil pack, spark plugs, and wires. I'm thinking I might have a bad fuel injector. Any other ideas?

Might be. You could try using a gas additive that contains a fuel injector cleaner. There are many different brands. If you want it cleaned the right way it will cost you though and by that i mean going to a repair shop that takes out the injectors and cleans it. prices vary from shop to shop. if i had to come up with an estimate i'd say around 250$ maybe.
The only sure way to find out if its the fuel injector is to take it out and inspect it for something clogging it up.
If the injector is fine it could be a more serious problem. could be something wrong with the valves in the cylinder or the cylinder itself. My advice is to check to make sure the wires are connected nicely and not loose. also check the wires for any signs of heat damage. One time my sisters mustang kept misfiring and we found out that it was the wire being melted because it was drooping near the headers.
