Hey all,

I've been using 14" Baer GT Plus brakes (cross drilled, slotted, zinc coated) on the front for about 2 years now and I can't get them to stop squealing. I've used the pads from Baer as well as Hawk HPS, with a proper (or at least my best shot) bed in procedure. Squealing just gets worse.

I'm thinking about starting from scratch with new rotors and new pads. Any recommendations? I want a safe ride that stops fast, looks cool and doesn't make noise.

My choices are cross drilled & slotted w/ zinc, slotted w/ zinc, or slotted w/ no zinc.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

funny, I am running the same 14" cross-drilled slotteed zinc coated rotors on all four corners and I do not have any issues witht he brakes squealing. Although to be honest, although I know I am running performance pads, I do not know the name brand of the pads I am using.

I would use a rotary scotch pad on both sides of the rotors, and emery paper on the pads. After that clean good with Brake Clean before reassemble.
It sounds like you have glazed the pads.
