BAMA Tune for a Manual with Dual Exhaust?

2990 Views 22 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  gierma5
Just wondering if anybody out there has gotten a BAMA tune, 91 or 87 octane, for their 4.0 with just dual exhaust? and if so how much of an improvement in power/ throttle response did you see?

I'm thinking about getting a tuner and maybe 3.73s..? Just want to be sure. Thanks :bounce2:

I'm assuming that the dual exhaust is after the catalytic converters. This doesn't necessarily require a tune, but it's definitely going to be worth it. There's no doubt that a Bama custom tuned SCT X3 is going to be the best modification that you can do for your Mustang. Also, it's something that you'll use as you add modifications down the road.

If you have absolutely any questions, whatsoever, please feel free to give Bama a call directly. They're here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST to answer technical questions and explain the whole process. Give them a shout directly and they'll hook you up! 888.226.9764

Good luck!
a tuner is a must have for these cars. it would be well worth it to get the jlt cai with the sct tuner and tunes combo package at the same time for another $150. it will pack a punch, you`ll get the full benefit of the tunes and save some money :)
My only mod was dual exhaust and you will not regret getting the tuner from AM and Chris Rose! Throttle response is night and day difference (I have manual trans) the car pulls harder than stock and the beauty of it all is AM has free tunes for life, so when you modify your car they can send you a new tune to support the mod. :bigthumbsup
The tuner for my 2008 V6 manual should be here Friday. I have a Shaker and a single Bassani axle back but I will let you know how it goes.
Awesome I appreciate all the input. I definitely like the idea of doing the package deal and getting a brand name CAI for 150 bucks. At AM right?

Definitely want to hear about your results revtime :yup:

The packages are definitely a nice savings. That, with your AFM discount, it's a win-win!

too much trust is put in email tunes imo. after you get to the point where you don't think you're going to make any more engine modifications, i highly recommend you get a dyno tune. better fuel effeciency, more power, and most importantly it's 10x safer on your car.

Wrong. I'd be willing to do an independent test. You can have you and your dyno tuner fly out here, we'll let him tune it hands-on our in-house Dynojet 224xLC. And then you can watch us load in our standard mail-order tune to your car and we'll compare.

Let me know!

Thats why I chose AM and Chris Rose!:winks
Got my SCT tuner in today. Had some time before work so I loaded a tune.........WOW. I played with it a little on the way to work and I think I just made it much easier to get tickets in this car. I thought it felt good before and to be honest I didn,t expect much being a glass half empty kind of guy. But there is a significant difference in how the car performs. Actually hit the limiter due to wheelspin. Car feels much better all around.

Thanks American Muscle.

Oh did I mention this was the 87 street tune? The 91 race tune must be a beast.

You will notice differences in all three tunes, But to answer your question about the race tune...YUP:yup:
yeah I am still amazed at this 87 street tune. Put some 91 octane in today so I will load up the 91 performance tune here soon. I found some build numbers on the 2008 V6s and now I know why there are not many responses on the V6 manuals. Only 15% of the 2008 V6s were manual transmission if the numbers I have seen are correct. Lot of automatics out there.
My 2010 has a manual trans. When I bought my car it was the only one on the lot that was manual, out of 14 cars.

Id be interested in the 2010 numbers for manual trans.
That's really odd almost all of the mustangs out at the dealer in spokane are manuals. Minus a couple of course. I was getting my free service yesterday and I couldn't resist sitting in a few of the new 5.0s *drool* anyways is there an estimated rwhp increase from stock to a 91 octane with dual exhaust?
Not quite sure but you will definitely notice the difference from stock.

I think the reason is the traffic in the D.C. metropolitan area is horrible and most people don't want the hassle of driving stick shift in bumper to bumper traffic.

American Muscle got 40hp and 66lb/ft of torque out of their V6 build. That doesn't mean that they'll all do that, but even half that would make a big improvement. 2005 V6 Project Car at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

I'm in Northern Virginia as well, and I think you're right. There's just too much traffic to sell a lot of manuals around here. The dealership always has a few, but I don't think they move nearly as many manuals compared to autos.
I love the tune they set me up with. I don't think I could of asked for anything more
I'm really getting sold on this tune. Did I hear something about an AFM discount?
