So yesterday as I was coming home from work I was stopped at a light in traffic as i pulled about 20ft from the light my Battery and Oil pressure lights came on, both the needles went to low, and the car would not accelerate just coasted to a stop. When I stopped I tuned the car off, and started it up again with no issues all the way home. Now i do have a Bama Race tune with headers, off road pipe, etc... Could this just be a safety feature from below normal idle from the stop light? I did have the Advance track feature completely off. The car has never done that before. i saw a post similar to this when searching the web that came down to below normal idle. Any suggestions?

I've got headers, offroad X, JLT intake, and a Bama tune.
My car dies on me pretty frequently when I take it out of gear and start slowing down.. also seems to happen more often when I have the traction control crap turned off, which may just be a coincidence.
Seems to do it more often in cooler temps, say around 60* or so. When it's warmer than that, it doesn't seem to do it as often.
When I start it back up, my traction control lights are on, and the switch doesn't do anything.. the car also seems to have weird throttle response. After I start driving and reach about 20mph, the lights shut off and everything is back to normal.

Any chance you had just flashed a tune to your ECM? Updated BAMA tune, or switch between different BAMA tunes S,R,P or 87,89,91,93?

Isn't there a limp home mode when the car overheats etc. to allow you to drive a little further before it dies?

Those lights and no power are consistent with the car stalling. Any chance it died and you just didn't notice?
I D 5.0,

This sounds very odd. ^^ Could what Charlie said be correct? I know this has happened to me before the car stalled and all the dash lights come on and go to "low". Either way, the car should not be stalling and I'm going to get you taken care of. Can both of you guys shoot me a PM with your order numbers included? I'll have my head tuning specialist Mike Wilson contact you both directly and make sure we make any necessary revisions and get you guys squared away!

I'm sorry about the inconvenience but I really appreciate your patience! Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 if you need immediate attention!

I think it's worth asking if either or both of you followed the proper steps for the fuel trim and idle relearn after flashing the tune. It seems like about once a month somebody posts about stalling, idle quality, and driveability issues that are resolved by completing this procedure after a reflash or pulling the negative batt cable.

I'm not saying that this is 100% certainly the cause of your issue, but similar problems have been resolved by this procedure in the past.

I hadnt reflashed my car in a few months, this is the first time its ever happened. Its possible the car dies and i didnt notice. It idles around 750 and lowers toward 500. I havent been running it with all the advance trac stuff off in a good bit, usually just in sport mode. This hasnt happened before and I havent found really anything on this occurence. Dan Ill shoot you a PM on this.

I've tried the relearn multiple times and have had no luck.
Also, I haven't flashed my car in about 5 months, so even without the relearn, it should have straightened itself out by now.

Dan, I received 'updated' tunes from you guys back in June, but I had an issue updating my handheld before loading them on. It took HOURS to update (I'm not exaggerating, either), and when it finally finished, I was too afraid to even plug the thing in.
I should probably contact SCT and get the thing working properly before I even attempt to change tunes, but it just seems like far too much of a hassle.

What's all involved in having SCT 'fix' the tuner? How long does the process usually take, and why can't it be done by us?

Pac, did you make sure your handheld software was completely up to date. If it is contact Dan or the Bama team on the software update...it could have been corrupted through email.

It happened while updating it. It was my fault, though.
I plugged the thing in, and the stupid "Add new hardware" box popped on the screen. Since I had JUST finished doing that, I closed it. Well, hidden behind the popup, was a message saying.. "If add new hardware wizard comes up, DO NOT stop the process. Doing so may leave your device in an unusable state".

Well, sure enough, it was frozen. I unplugged it, plugged it back in, and then attempted the update again, only to have it take MANY hours (at least 4).
I've since updated the device a couple of times (much quicker, like normal), but have been too afraid to plug it in to my car.
The stock tune is no longer on the device, and when I try to load the back-up copy on to the device from my laptop, it says that it is not a valid file. (Yes, I didn't turn my car back to stock. I didn't see the point.)

Pac,

This sounds like a device issue that was caused from closing out the update. However SCT's support team is great and I'm confident they'll get you squared away very quickly. In most cases just a phone call over to them and they can hook up with your device and get you all the proper updates, software and firmware to get your device back on track!

They can also resend you a stock file so that you can put that back on the device. (Which was lost when not returning to stock before changing the tune). Since your device is taking all your recent updates normally you may be up to par. You can look in your device info and see what software you have loaded and then go to SCT's website and see what the latest firmware update is as well!

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions!
