Hi there

I have an electrical problem with me '68 coupe which I can't seem to track down: When I turn on the ignition, I generate sparks at the the positive battery terminal, but the engine does not tun over...also the turn signal and wipers do not come on, although the headlights do still work. I already charged my battery, so I know that isn't the problem...any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance..

Sparks from the battery is a good way to have it blow up. The hydrogen gas given off the battery is HIGHLY EXPLOSIVE! That would just be the start of your problems.

To make a spark, the connection must be bad.

Hello. :) :welcome I think that the first thing that I would check would be if the battery cables were on backwards. If no, I would take the battery down to an Autozone or something and have it tested. :)

Make sure the post clamps are tight.
Make sure the cable is in good shape.
Make sure the post does not rotate in the cover.
