I want to upgrade the heads on my '97 GT. I was thinking about PI heads out of a '99-up, but want new heads and the most bang for my buck. I plan on going to track events, so I wouldn't mind upgrading the cams, but it still needs to be streetable. Any suggestions?

The best heads around for the PI cars are simply a set of ported PI heads. Fox Lake and a few other places ( can't remember names right now ) are doing this and getting some really good results. As for cams, Crane and Comp both make some really good streetable cams for those heads. Also, since you're looking to do all this, might want to look into a PI Intake manifold to make the package work as good as possible.

The Parkway kit is one of the most complete if staying w/stock PI cams & springs. (not a bad thing) Even doing the swap w/the stock Ford pieces will change the car dramatically.
I bought new FRPP PI heads, sent them to Fox Lake for CNC and quality springs/retainers, and changed to Comp Cams. I'd at least look into head gaskets by Cometic that might lower compression ratio a bit from the final 10.5-1 post-swap. Requires premium fuel. Ported stock NPI heads when coupled w/the PI intake and PI or other cams work also, as do the pricey SVO heads which maintain the stock comp. ratio.
Other porting & parts sources: VT engines, Powerheads, TEA - Total Engine Airflow, Champion in FLA, Anderson Ford Motorsport, Livernois Motorsport.

After researching all of this, you'll want to compare final costs vs. bolting on supercharger especially if not in position to do both. Swap is not cheap when all said and done though can be reasonable if scrounge for used parts and can do some work yourself. If decide to hold off for awhile as you research & save money, the swap to just the PI intake, via the Livernois kit or w/RTV silcone, is a worthwhile gain.

I'm very happy with my Patriots. On my car, lots of mods, the stage 2's gave me 75hp more on the dyno. I wouldn't expect to always see that kind of gain, my cams and short block were to much for my stock heads so it really helped me alot. Tonight I'll be at the 1/4 with them for the first time, hoping to get deep into the 11's. My calculations lead me to beleive 11.2 to 11.3 we'll see. I thought they were pretty reasonalbly priced also at $1295 complete with shipping from Summit.
