Looking to install new headlights and taillights on my 2008 black Mustang. Thinking halo lights for the front? Smoked sequential taillights? Any advice on which ones to get? Attached pictures of my mustang...

I posted a similar question yesterday. I can't recommend a specific brand, but make sure that smoked lights are legal in your neck of the woods.

I would definitely recommend Raxiom's Gen5 Taillights for the rear-They're pretty trick and already have the sequential harness built into them so you don't have to buy the taillights as well as the harness!

On the front that's a tough one. I'm pretty partial to to the OEM factory lights but I've been in love with the 2010 Style Headlight ever since I saw it get released. Definitely take a look on our product page so you can tailor the customer submitted images by color to get an idea of how they'll look on yours!

I bought the retro style headlights from american muscle for my 2008 gt they look really good if you are in to the 60s look. I highly recommend these headlights And you can get them painted to match the color of your car.

Hey Justin-Thanks a lot for you feedback! I'm happy to hear that you're enjoying them as much as I do! They're super throwback/nostalgic and I get complements on them daily!

I've had two sets from American Muscle leak on me. The first set i figured [email protected] happens. The second set made me think after market is not the way to go. In the spring I will go to my Ford dealer and get them to install new ones. American Muscle does have great customer service. The people were very helpful. Just don't care for this product.
Headlights

Not to hack on AM. Should send pictures!!

We're those replacements? I usually hit replacements with a bead of clear silicone on the seams. That sucks man.
I put AM's Gen 5's on two weeks ago and couldn't be happier with the fitment and the finished look. I have splitters on the headlights with a set of HID's. The center tail insert is the SHR honeycomb panel.

Hey! Sorry to hear about this! That's definitely irregular and like silvr002001 had said I'll usually get some RTV Silicone on mine just to be on the safe side. I'm more than happy to get a replacement set up if you'd like! If not no problem at all, just shoot me a PM and we can have them sent back for a refund.

Hey,

That's awesome! I'm happy to hear that you're enjoying Raxiom's Gen5's so much they really set the rear end off nicely!

Don't buy Cervinis taillights!!!

I would not buy Cervinis tail lights, They told me they had the condensation problem worked out before I purchased them...not so, mine are all fogged up? Cervinis won't take them back because I altered the center panel buy drilling four small holes in the plastic surround,( to put the license plate over the fake gas cap hole) (the car is on the Cerviis tail light page, red black and white Mustang) car which does not have anything to do with the lights themselves, and they were kind of pricky about the whole thing! In my opinion, they lied about their quality control, and sold me faulty product, they said I could remover just the tail light portion at my extra expense, as I had them professionally installed, and they would replace the light part? But what then? a repeat of the same problem? So my advice is to stay away from Cervinis Tail Lights, and besides they are really dim compared to the stock lights? All Cervinis would say is they meet DOT spec? In my opinion, these lights are trash, and at that price I could and should have been treated better. so beware! Really, if you are not watching the tail lights closely, you won't notice them come on at all... they are that dim. My Azzerra third brake light is 10 times brighter!!!

I too have been looking for replacement Headlights but haven't found what I want yet. Cars in Canada have Daytime Running Lights I have to be careful. Not all replacements work with the DRL system - at least that is what the fine print says.
I kept my taillights but bought a sequential harness for them.
White back up light

The OEM tailights have a white backup light in them,
How does this work with the Raxiom Gen5 Taillights?
Hey man! On my 2008 Dark Candy Apple Red mustang I did a complete replacement of all OEM lights with Raxiom lights. On the tail end I went with the Gen5 and havent been happier, (I recently had to sell the Dark Candy Apple Red GT (Totaled in a Rear End Accident - Not my Fault)) and I took the Gen5 Tailights out (Which hadnt been harmed thank goodness) and put them on the new White 08 GT/CS and they're beautiful! Whoever asked about the white back up light, the Gen5 come with three white backup lights that do much more than the one stock white light.

As for the headlights, I went with the Raxiom 2010 smoked sytle headlights. I was told that because of the "smoked" tint that the lights were very dim so to purchase higher powered ones. I went ahead and bought the Raxiom highpowered bulbs and installed them with the headlights. While I got MANY compliments on the lights themselves, they were EXTREMELY dim. I honestly didn't feel safe driving with them.

Because of this, I plan to leave my stock halogens on the 08 GT/CS and maybe just do the retro styled painted buckets.

PS. I also had trouble aligning the 2010 style headlights, even after trying to adjust them.... they were always just a LITTLE bit off from eachother and it drove me nuts!

Goodluck!!
Scott2 --> I like the two fog lights in the center of the grill.

Thanks, my Center Fog Grille was made by Street Scene.
