You couldn't use the Lightning computer, the standard Mustang computer will be fine to run the 351. Of course a tune for it would make a big difference as well. But the standard Mustang computer would work.
Best computer for 351w
Hey all, just curious what the best computer is to buy for a 351w if I go fuel injected. Is the best way to go just to search around for a wrecked lightening or is there a better computer that I can order. Thanks for any info. I don't know much about these motors yet :bigthumbsup Also, what are the best years of lightening's to look for when going after parts, i.e. intake, heads, computer, possibly fuel injectors/rails. Thanks again.

If you plan on getting a chip burnt for it, you could always use a 94-95 5.0L computer. The factory "tune" sucks compared to fox computers, but they datalog which comes in handy for tuning, and if you get it tuned anyways then the factory fuel curves, timing, spark, etc. don't really matter all that much.
