I'm a bit sceptical about any claim of 5hp gains from just spark plugs. That just sounds "fishy" They may be a good plug but additional hp from them.....ehh... I asked the same question a month of so ago and the answer I was given is autolite plugs.
Best Spark Plugs for my 2002 Mustang GT?
hey just wanted to know what is the best preform spark plug to run in my stang. i was watching a show and they had a spark plug shoot out with bosch plat +4 & E3 diamondfire and the E3 won it gain 5hp and used less gas has any one tryed these spark plug.

i run the autolites,good plug,no problems.

I have heard pretty bad reviews from people running plugs of that nature saying that they would get hard starting, rough idling and missing. In my opinion, Auto Lite Platinums are the best plug by far too run in your mustang.

Use platinum or idridium for longevity. Copper for performance. That's pretty much it. The 4 electrode plugs are a gimmick.

The motorcraft SP-493 is the original plug that came with the car. Copper the best conductivity which means better output but a low life span about 25-35 thousand miles tops for best performance.Platnium plugs have longer life about 40-60 thousand miles but have less conductivity means less performance...what ever your needs are.
Ive got stock motor with Stage 2 VT Cams and beehive springs, had NGK plugs it in. Just installed E3 plugs today and it feels like a new car. My mustangs idle is pretty aggressive and shakes quite a bit. After installing these the cab shakiness went down tremendously and it runs alot smoother. With just that I am sold on the E3s
well I am gonna change my plugs this weekend, seems my car is down on power for some reason, seems like its lugging (not missing) when you try to pass someone, etc. Just doesn't feel right. It's got 200k on it, ran perfectly till now. Original injectors too, so I'm gonna try the E3 plugs and check all the injectors too while I'm in there.

As mentioned in several of my past rantings and also in the comments above, don't bother with those plugs. No "+5hp", no "increased mpg" per the advertising propaganda to be found there. A spark is a spark, period. The rest is all ********.
If you want a real man's plug (no ****), Autolite 764 (or equivelant) is where it's at. Contradictory to what is spec'd in repair manuals and elsewhere, set the gap to around .045"-.048"-ish.
How do you plan to "check" the injectors? Be careful removing and reinstalling them, there is a little o-ring where they seat into the fuel rail that is very fragile. A typical recommendation would be to have a new set of o-rings onhand and replace the existing ones prior to reinstallation.
If I were you though, instead of messing with the injectors I would think about replacing the fuel filter if it's been a while or possibly never.

Listen to SoCal. I had the opportunity of installing some Bosch plugs that I got for free. While I have no problems from them, they perform like any other plugs. When they run their course, I will be jumping back to the coppers. I can't see myself spending $40 on plugs.

I bought my 764's at WalMart for about $12. Can't beat that.
copper core of your choice, I used NGK TR-55's when I was normally aspirated, now I use the colder TR-6's!:yup:
