Ok soo here's my problem, purshased the car with long tube headers witch are welded to the exhaust. My steering shaft is shot, so I'm replacing it. But it won't fit through the headers. I seperated the headers from the rack and pinion and when I try to pull the shaft out from the bottom itcgets caught when it gets to that bulky piece that's in the middle of the shaft. Any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

I absolutely hate when people weld the headers to the rest of the exhaust for this exact reason.

Yupp.. When I saw that I was very upset!! Don't see the point really. So any ideas. Do you think I could of even got it off if it wasn't welded. I was thinking sinse when it's cold things shrink and the car was sitting acouple days mayb if I run it and heat up the headers it might expand alittle. I need like less then a inch to get it out.

They're not going to expand that much. What brand of headers do you have?
