Blow off valve hook up?

5067 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  cyoung311
Just picked up a turbo coupe that has a BOV on it. Its been attached to the side of the intercooler(pipe welded on) and the line runs to the vacuum block on the firewall. I read somewhere that the line was supposed to go to the intake before the throttle body. It seems to be functioning but is this a correct spot to hook it up or should i change it? And just for the sake of knowing the info, why?

It goes before the throttle plate on the boost side of the turbo. Then you adjust it and a vacuum hose does go to the vacuum TREE. Its used to bleed off boost during closed throttle and to keep the turbo from excessive back preasure biild up. It works very good and should always be usd on a turbo car. Peace Tom
