So the cute chick I sit next to, talk to in class drove her moms z4 to school today. Anyways she told me the z4 would be faster than my 2012 5.0 LOL.

Is that true? I'd think a 5.0 would smash a z4 lol. All the times I see for them are pretty slow compated to the 5.0

Yea lol. Even my 2006 would give it a good run.

Didn't Motortrend last year do a track test with the M3 which is a higher end BMW, and a GT with trackpack and the GT did just as good for half the price.

No way I could see spending 50k on a car like a z4. That don't have much torque. I like the big v8s!

Depends on which model/year of Z4 and whether there will be any turning.

If it's the Z4 with 335hp and adaptive suspension, I suspect it would embarrass you on a road course.

Zero to 60 mph: 4.8 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 12.0 sec
Standing ¼-mile (C/D est): 13.5 sec @ 106 mph

By comparison in their hands the 5.0 was 0-60 in 4.6 and 1/4 mile in 13.2.


So, I'd expect the 335hp version to be faster than the 5.0 by any measure.

Of course it's almost twice the price, and probably not what her mom has.

BMW's claiming 0-60 times of 5.1 for the manual and 5.0 for the auto in sDrive35i trim. Twin turbo 3.0 liter straight six with direct injection and variable valve timing. 300 Hp and 300Ft/lb torque, 3500 lbs unladen. The numbers don't seem right, but maybe it's geared to optimize 0-60 times.

Tell her it's close but not quite. Then ask her if she wants to go for a ride.

That's why I picked both sets of data from the same source. C/D times are very, very consistent from one test to the next. Any difference between the cars is the cars, even if other magazines get different times.

Also I wasn't impressed wtih the interior of the Z4 compared to my GT premium, just didn't like it.

Thats one thing about BMW is their cars look bland. I like the M3 but the chasis looks bland and plain compared to the Mustang that is tons cheaper.

Same with Mercedes. If you want one of their fast cars that goes 0-60 under 5 seconds you have to spit out some serious coin for it.

American Muscle has them beat.

Shes' very attractive. I've been hitting on her all semester. She's younger than me, and is single too, but she wont go hangout with me. I've asked multiple times. She's a very adorable girl.

She told me she would never spend 33K on a car though like I did. Said she'd rather buy a house, and she said I'm spending too much time on my new car and should put more effort into my classwork lol. That from whos mom buys a 50k overpriced crackerbox car lol thats slower.
