i have an 87 LX and ive done a little work to it but nothing real big. only real thing ive done is rebuilt the rear end with bigger axles and 3.73 gears. ive read a little about it, can you all give me some good and bad on a procharger. the website says its safe for stock cars to just be bolt on horse power but is it really that simple?

You need to address fuel, and timing in reference to the boost. Just slapping a charger or turbo on to a "stock" setup is useless without supporting mods. Unless you want to spend money and just enjoy the car before something gives. But yes one could buy a kit and literally bolt it on in the driveway in a weekend.
