Bradenton Motorsports Park this Saturday! West-central Florida drag strip

Anyone coming out this Saturday from 6-11 for some fun on the track? I will probably be there and my buddy might be there with his modded-to-hell MR2. I went last Saturday and it's good fun. Also, active duty military ID gets you in for free.

Hope to see some familiar Stangs from the forums there! :gringreen

Hmm I'm not far from there, maybe a half hour. I would like to get out there one day just to see what its like. Though me actually trying to go down the 1/4 would probably be hilarious to see.
I thought that for sure about myself, but it isn't difficult at all. I think the main mistake I made was launching at too high an RPM and having too much wheelspin. The track is much slicker than I expected. After that it's just rowing through the gears, finish the 1/4 at the top of 4th gear, gradually slow down after.

As far as before the 1/4, all you have to do is pay at the entrance ($12 per person), go to the race registration booth and sign some form saying you won't sue them, then drive into one of the lanes that leads to the track. Get your number drawn on your window and go from there!
How is that track? I'll be moving to Tampa in August for college and I've been wondering about this track. How is the quality? About how far away from Tampa?
@multicam

Well damn! I thought I had a unique car around here, clearly I'm in the wrong... Nice ride :bigthumbsup

Where in Tampa are you located?

If you were talking to me, specifically the Temple Terrace area.

Hey, I thought so too, my ex-gf once told me she saw a PP 'Stang that was exactly like mine and I assumed she was full of ****! :hihi: Nice ride to you too! I love what you've done to the front end :bigthumbsup

I live about 5 miles west of USF's campus off Fletcher.

Oh, and 5.0 Stallion, I don't have a lot of experience with drag strips but this one seems good to me. It has a lot of events going on (October 20th is what I'm looking forward to, Modern American Muscle) and it is a decent price, and I got on the track in no time. It's about a 45 minute drive from USF's campus.

Whoever wants to answer I suppose... I haven't seen too many modded 2011+ stangs cruising around here, it'll be good to up the population a bit.

So you'll be attending USF?

I'll actually be attending Florida College. I don't know if you know what that is. It's a pretty small private christian college. It's really close to USF.

Oh alright. Sweet. Well I'll definitely be paying it some visits. I'd love to check it out.

And it'll be good to liven the area up with this stang. Haha. I can't wait to be there.

I would assume the same, I've only seen a couple PP cars, much less Kona ones. Thanks! It was the only positive part to an unfortunate growing pain associated with my first manual transmission...

I'm down in Temple Terrace just off Hillsborough Ave.

We should definitely hit the track one day, there's also a guy on here that goes to the strip in Orlando frequently. I'm hoping to go to A track one of these days... just need funds to cooperate a bit more.

I've heard of it and it's actually very close to where I'm at.

There can never be too many, have you done anything to your ride?

As of right now I just have Boss 302 intake manifold, pipeline cold air, no cats and bigger exhaust with stock mufflers, and Bama iTSX. I'm ordering a steeda "cam" tune today as well as BBK headers.
Has anyone used the Pypes long tubes? I've heard a few bad things about the quality of BBK.

Wow, sounds like a pretty good set up... I think you should liven this place up a bit too :bigthumbsup, I'd wouldn't mind checking that out to be honest, how do you like the sound of no cats?

I don't know much about the Pypes LT set up, by when I make my eventual move to a GT I'm going to try out the Kooks Boss H pipe and LT set up...

It sounds pretty good. It'll sound better with the LTs and a nice set of axel backs. I like the Kooks but I decided to go with the "budget" headers. Haha
Hey guys! I just met multicam last night at the track lol. It was absolutely packed. We all need to go hit the track sometime!

I'm down for some time in late August or anytime after that!

I can dig it!

Hopefully I'll be meeting you all at the track one of these days as well...
