I have done the five lug conversion on my GT. I have the front rotors off a Lincoln Mark VIII. Well I was wondering if anyone knew the minimum thickness of the rotors for those cars. My brales are feeling worn, I checked my pads and they are good ( i replaced them a few months ago.) My brake fluid level is good and the only thing left is the rotors. I measured them with my digital caliper and it measured that they were 1.008 in thick. Just curious what the minimum thickness was.

You must have 0.972 minimum thickness to resurface them or you must discard them.

Have you given the brakes a good bleeding and adjusted the drums? That can make a huge difference.

The drums brakes were replaced about 2-3 months ago when I installed a new rear end. As far as bleeding the brakes...well that was done....well guess its time to do that, huh?

Thanks
